Tasting notes and food pairing ideas:
Ripe pear and quince fruit flavours with nougat and spice undertones. A medium-bodied wine with a soft, generous texture. The clean fruit and spice flavours linger on the long, dry finish. We recommend dishes featuring smoked salmon, mushrooms, poultry or light game. Pasta dishes are also a good match.
Drink it now and in 2016. Vines are trained to two canes on a standard trellis, with balanced pruning, shoot thinning, vertical shoot positioning, tucking and trimming to achieve an open, healthy canopy. The early part of the season was cool and wet, resulting in lower yields and a late harvest period. Long dry spells over the final part of the ripening season lead to an accumulation of intense varietal flavours, high natural acidity to retain these flavours and clean fruit.
